Genesis's luxury mid-sized electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) GV70 electric model has returned to a more elegant and luxurious appearance.
Genesis explained that the GV70 partial change model has a luxurious interior and exterior design that reinforces details based on 'Athletic Elegance', a brand design philosophy.
The new GV70 electric model, which I have encountered in person, looked well suited to the explanation that it was "luxury."

The interior was particularly impressive. The test drive was decorated in white tone, and you could naturally feel that it was very complete from color to texture. The subtle purple lighting of "Milkyway Pattern Mood Lighting," which depicts the Milky Way decorated inside the white-toned interior and the side, matched very well, creating a unique luxury.
The sound was also impressive. Genesis explained that it applied Bang & Olufsen high-resolution sound system and sound-related technologies such as Dolby Atmos to the new GV70 electrification model.

When I actually played the music, I could feel a very three-dimensional and rich sound. It was amazing to hear hidden sounds that I had not heard before from songs I usually enjoyed, so I played several songs. In addition, the interior was quiet even while driving, so you could enjoy the sound in abundance. I thought it would be a clear advantage for music enthusiasts.
The appearance could not be felt much different from the previous model. Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology was applied to the two-line headlamps, which can be considered the symbol of Genesis, and the light was turned on as if passing along the headlamp when the engine was turned on, making it a luxurious detail.
A new 20-inch wheel with matte dark gray color was added to the side, and the existing 19-inch wheel was changed in color to create a sophisticated atmosphere. The rear side increased visibility by raising the position of the turn signal from the bumper to the rear combi lamp, and a two-line light design was applied to the rear side to ensure design unity between the front and rear.

Performance has also improved. The GV70 electrification model has increased its capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh by applying a fourth-generation battery with higher energy density. As a result, the possible distance for one charge has also increased from 400km to 423km (based on combined, 19-inch wheels). However, the 350kW ultra-fast charger can charge the battery capacity from 10% to 80% in 19 minutes. In addition, the battery conditioning mode, which can control the battery temperature when the user wants, has been improved to increase safety.
There are many drivers who do not prefer the unique driving feeling of electric cars. However, GV70 had relatively little such feeling.Genesis explained that it has applied virtual gear shift (VGS) and new active sound design to the new GV70 electric model that provides a shifting feel of internal combustion engine vehicles through electric vehicle motor control. Among the various electric vehicles that have been tested at the same time, their unique feeling is the least.
The driving performance was also satisfactory. The connection was natural when accelerating and decelerating, and even in the basic driving mode, the speed was light without being blocked as soon as the accelerator pedal was pressed.
Other advantages include a voice recognition system that can be used if you say "Hey Genesis" and a streaming service that allows you to enjoy content such as Disney Plus and Netflix without a separate device on a 27-inch integrated wide display.
The sales price of the GV70 electric model is 75.3 million won based on the application of electric vehicle tax benefits. Genesis explained, "We have increased marketability by applying various new specifications, but we have minimized the increase in sales prices." The actual purchase price may be lower when the purchase subsidy is applied.
