In the future, 20,000 households of Doosan Engineering & Construction apartments "Weave" and "Weave the Zenith" will be able to use the all-in-one residential platform "Homnick" developed by Samsung C&T's construction sector.

In addition to existing smart home services such as community reservation, registration of visiting vehicles, and home appliance control, HomeNick is a new concept apartment operating system (OS) that combines life-friendly services such as inquiry of management costs, defect repair, joint purchase, and meeting management.

More than 90% of households have gone viral at premium apartment complexes in Banpo, including Raemian One Bailey and OnePentas, and the number of households used exceeded 50,000 within a year and a half of its launch. In particular, not only Samsung C&T's apartment brand "Raemian" but also other construction companies such as Doosan Engineering & Construction and Hanwha Engineering & Construction are introducing homnick one after another.

Samsung C&T and Doosan Engineering & Construction announced on the 27th that they have signed a "MOU to provide smart housing services." Homenick was developed by Samsung C&T as a platform that integrates various services such as housing, culture, life, and health. Within a year and a half of its launch in August 2023, the size of the homenick-applied complex exceeded 50,000 households. On top of that, the agreement will apply homnick to about 20,000 apartments built by Doosan Engineering & Construction.

Earlier in December last year, Samsung C&T signed a business agreement with the core of introducing HomeNick to Hanwha Forrena, a residential brand in Hanwha's construction sector. Recently, homnick has also been introduced to eight existing complexes (about 6,000 households), including Mullae Hill State, 3-ga, Mullae-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, which moved in 2003, and Acro River Park, Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, which moved in 2016.

In apartments where HomeNick has been introduced, various services of apartments can be easily operated with just one dedicated smartphone application (app).

"Integration" is considered to be the first reason why Homenick is receiving good responses among residents. In the case of residential apps in the existing market, they were divided by functions such as access, community reservation, parking, and management fee inquiry, which caused inconvenience for consumers to install various apps. While integrating this, Homenick has added new functions such as communities and joint purchases that support communication and gatherings among residents. For example, thousands of residents of Banpo's "One Bayley" are actively utilizing the service by creating 170 small groups within Hometnick.

The reason why construction companies competing with Samsung C&T are introducing HomeNick is because of its "expandability." Samsung C&T worked with Tower PMC, a residential complex management company, and Woori Management to lay the foundation for easy home-nick service to various apartment complexes nationwide.

It was also effective to aim for an open platform rather than a closed one. Previously, it was possible to control home appliances in the house using Internet of Things (IoT) technology, but it was uncomfortable because it was not compatible with other brand products. Samsung C&T has enabled smart devices of various brands to be linked and used within the HomeNick platform.
