At a meeting of the emergency committee on the 27th, the People's Power criticized the Seoul High Court, which effectively eliminated judicial risks that had been the biggest obstacle to Lee's presidential bid. Kwon Young-se, chairman of the emergency committee, said, "Acknowledging the photo enlargement manipulation and acquittal of golf remarks makes us doubt the judge's literacy." The reason why the ruling party poured out such extreme words toward the court is that this judgment casts a dark cloud over the future presidential election for the people's power. Until before the sentence, many in the party predicted that the first trial would be overturned, and that the presidential election would be worthwhile if the judicial risk surrounding representative Lee was highlighted. A three-term lawmaker of People's Power said, "The current party atmosphere is very gloomy."
Shin Dong-wook, a senior spokesman for People's Power, told reporters, "There were words that it was difficult to understand the second trial ruling (at the emergency committee meeting)," and again condemned the court, saying, "We created innocence by applying logic that is difficult to understand in the line of common sense." As a force of the people, they are in a position to hope that the results will be overturned again in the Supreme Court's final ruling.
However, there is also a cautious prospect that the impeachment of President Yoon could be concluded to be dismissed or dismissed, or the sentence could be delayed further. A second-term lawmaker of the People's Power said, "As the court spared Lee, expectations are spreading that President Yoon can also come back alive from the Constitutional Court."
There is also a steady analysis that if the constitutional judges agreed enough to cite impeachment, there is no reason for the sentence to be delayed like this. In particular, some in the party predict that the two judges, Moon Hyung-bae and Lee Mi-sun, will not be sentenced until April 18 when they retire. If this happens, some say that it is worth waiting until the third trial's sentence against CEO Lee.
