Fire authorities conducted a fire safety investigation on large construction sites nationwide in the wake of a fire accident at a new resort construction site in Gijang-gun, Busan last month, and violations were found in about 10% of the total.

The National Fire Agency announced on the 27th that it conducted an emergency fire safety survey on 775 large construction sites nationwide from the 18th of last month to the 17th of this month and found 115 violations of the law, including unregistered operations of the fire fighting facility business, in 76 places. The National Fire Agency booked 10 of the violations and imposed fines on 35 cases.

Temporary fire fighting facilities that must be installed at construction sites are fire extinguishers, simple fire extinguishers, and emergency alarm devices. Failure to install it could result in a fine of 3 million won.
