In January, when President Yoon's impeachment trial took place, overtime hours at the task force in Seoul more than doubled compared to the same period last year.

According to Yang Boo-nam of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee on the 27th, the average monthly overtime hours per task force in Seoul increased by about 12 hours from about 80 hours in November last year to 92 hours in December last year when the December 3 emergency martial law was declared. In January this year, when President Yoon's impeachment proceedings began in earnest, the police's overtime hours increased to 113.7 hours, more than doubling from January last year (54 hours).

As many of the pro- and anti-impeachment rallies are held in downtown Seoul, the number of task force units of the local police agency that are coming to Seoul is also increasing. The police are using domestic travel expenses to book accommodations for mobile workers in accordance with the travel expenses regulations for civil servants, and about 80% of the total budget was exhausted in about three months. According to the National Police Agency, 1.36 billion won, or about 77.0% of the total budget, was spent until the 23rd, the date of the impeachment trial of Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, out of 1.774 billion won in domestic travel expenses organized by the police this year.

The police announced a large-scale police force before and after the date of the impeachment trial of President Yoon. On the eve of the sentencing day, a "Eulho Emergency" will be issued, which will mobilize half of the total police force, and on the day of the sentencing, a "Gapho Emergency" will be issued, which will mobilize all police forces. There are 338 units to be deployed to the emergency of Gapho, and about 20,000 police officers will be deployed to respond to the rally.
