The number of customers who participated in the donation campaign launched by Hyundai Department Store to support recovery from forest fires exceeded 10,000 in a day.

According to the distribution industry on the 28th, 13,000 people participated in an emergency fundraising campaign to recover from the Gyeongsang and Ulsan wildfires posted on the Hyundai Department Store Group H Point app on the afternoon of the 26th, raising 51 million won in donations as of 10 a.m. on the 27th. Hyundai Department Store achieved its original goal of creating a total donation of 100 million won by adding the same amount as the total amount of customer donations within 10,000 days.

The app's high accessibility has led to active participation in donations. The H-Point app is a mobile platform with high daily utilization because customers can check points accumulated by eight major affiliates of Hyundai Department Store Group and purchase products like cash, reaching 1 million monthly active users (MAU).

In the H-point app, the 'donation' section is operated at all times. In other words, distribution companies play a bridge role for donation culture. More than 130,000 customers have participated in the donation campaign conducted by the H Point app over the past year, including the My Tree Donation Project and support for surgery expenses for children with hearing impairments.

Such donation platforms are drawing more attention to recent disaster situations that require public attention and cooperation. This is in terms of the fact that it is an easy and convenient window for the general public who want to help at least a little while watching the aftermath of the wildfire damage, which is approaching its worst ever.

In fact, wildfires are spreading around the northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do, so it is not easy for people living in the metropolitan area to visit the site for volunteer activities. As a result, there seems to be a high interest in the campaign, which can provide meaningful help right away, even a small amount.

So far, 38% of the campaign participants are in their 20s and 30s, and the warmth of the younger generation is gathering in the national disaster.

Hyundai Department Store has exceeded its fundraising target, but it will continue its fundraising campaign.

In addition to the 300 million won relief donation delivered earlier, Hyundai Department Store plans to add the same amount as the total amount of customer donations to pay daily necessities for victims and to operate evacuation facilities.
