Doosan Efficiency was once again recognized for its gas turbine reliability and technology by winning an order for Yeosu Natural Gas Power Plant with a super-large gas turbine made with domestic technology.

Doosan Efficiency announced on the 28th that it has signed a 320 billion won contract with Korea Western Power Co. to supply the Yeosu natural gas power plant cycle. This contract is significant in that it is a "re-purchase" signed by Western Power based on its experience of actually operating Korea's first gas turbine for more than 15,000 hours at the Gimpo Combined Heat and Power Plant.

Officials from both companies attended the signing ceremony held at Signiel, Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 28th, including President Lee Jung-bok of Seobu Power Co., Vice Chairman Jeong Yeon-in of Doosan Efficiency, and Director of Power Service BG Son Seung-woo. Yeosu Natural Gas Power Plant is an eco-friendly power plant that replaces the old power plant (Taean Unit 3) in accordance with the government's basic plan for power supply and demand, and will be built on a 500MW scale within the Myodo Port Redevelopment Zone in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, and is a standard complex demonstration project aimed at the highest power generation efficiency in Korea.

Through this contract, Doosan Energy will supply 380MW of H-class super-large gas turbines, steam turbines, and heat recovery boilers (HRSG) by 2028. The contract also includes an emergency response obligation clause that can respond immediately in the event of abnormalities and the provision of regular education services to strengthen the technology capabilities of power generators, reflecting periodic partnerships ranging from operation-maintenance-education as well as periodic supply.

"We are very meaningful and grateful that Western Power, which has verified its performance through actual operation, has again chosen Doosan Energy's gas turbine," said Jeong Yeon-in, vice chairman of Doosan Energy. "We will continue to actively promote Korea's gas turbine exports by strengthening our gas turbine electric partnership with our customers."

Doosan Efficiency succeeded in localizing a large gas turbine for power generation in 2019 and jointly developed a "380MW Korean standard gas complex model" with 340 domestic, academic, and annual institutions. In addition, a 400MW super-large hydrogen plant turbine is also being developed with the goal of 2027.
