On the 28th, Atomy Co., Ltd. (Chairman Park Han-gil) donated 10 billion won to the Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byung-joon) to support forest fire damage in the Yeongnam region.
In addition, relief goods (worth 350 million won) were donated separately to help victims and forest fire extinguishing personnel.
The donation will be used to support the bereaved families of firefighters who died, support treatment costs for the injured, relief and recovery of forest fire-affected areas, daily necessities and housing for victims, and support for the recovery of damage to child care facilities in Gyeongnam.
It will also provide emergency supplies worth 350 million won for the site, including bottled water, wet wipes, ramen, and soy milk, for victims affected by the worst large-scale forest fires ever.
Atomy's 10 billion won in donations to support forest fire damage is the highest amount ever for a single donation among love fruit disaster donations so far.
Atomy's support for wildfire damage comes from voluntary fundraising by Atomy members. The AsoAs Sharing Association, a self-help group of Atomy members, recently launched a fundraising campaign for members living in wildfire-affected areas.
As news of the members' fundraising spread, the company decided to donate 10 billion won to support the rapid fire extinguishing and damage recovery.
Park Han-gil, chairman of Atomy, said, "I hope it will help those who are struggling to extinguish the forest fire even at this time due to the worst forest fire ever," adding, "Atomy, a company that values soul, will continue to share with 3 million members to overcome disasters and disasters."
Kim Byung-joon, chairman of Love Fruit, said, "We thank Atomy, which has continued to make the largest donation as a medium-sized company. Donations and relief goods will be quickly used to support the livelihood of victims, urgent support and recover damage, and we will do our best to deliver precious hearts to the residents of the affected area."
In 2019, Atomy donated 10 billion won, the highest amount ever for mid-sized companies, to the fruit of love as a "MOM" fund for single-parent families. It then donated 10 billion won to support the vulnerable and solve local community problems, and the cumulative donation exceeded 30 billion won due to the donation of 10 billion won to support forest fire damage and the donation of goods.
